Misa's name holds a major historical context, derived from the acronym MISA (Maintenance of Internal Security Act). Lalu Yadav named her during his imprisonment under this act during the emergency period in India.

Misa Bharti pursued her education in medicine, excelling in her studies and earning distinctions in gynecology. She married Shailesh Kumar, a computer engineer, in 1999, and the couple has three children. She is known for her fiery temperament.
