The Candidtate: Vikramaditya Singh, scion of the illustrious former Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Virbhadra Singh, finds himself entangled in a legal battle merely a year and a half after his royal wedding. Born on October 17, 1989, Vikramaditya Singh received his early education at Bishop Cotton School, followed by graduation from St. Stephen's College, Delhi University, where he also pursued post-graduation in History.

Political ambitions, controversy

In the midst of heightened political fervor surrounding the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Vikramaditya Singh's nomination as a Congress candidate for the Mandi constituency has sparked significant interest. This decision was announced by Himachal Pradesh Congress President, Pratibha Singh, who incidentally, is Vikramaditya's mother and the current Member of Parliament from the Mandi seat.

While the official confirmation from the party is pending, Vikramaditya Singh's political journey is marked by his tenure as the President of Himachal Pradesh Youth Congress from 2013 to 2018 and his subsequent victory in the assembly elections from the Shimla Rural seat.

Royal matrimony and divorce

In 2019, Vikramaditya Singh entered into matrimonial bonds with Princess Sudarshana Chundawat of the Amet royal family of Rajasthan, a union characterized by grandeur and attended by luminaries from politics, film, and industry circles. However, despite the opulence of their royal wedding, the marital bliss was short-lived.

Within a mere year and a half, turmoil surfaced in Vikramaditya and Sudarshana's relationship, escalating to a point where legal intervention was necessitated. Sudarshana, in her police complaint, accused Vikramaditya and his mother, Pratibha Singh, of subjecting her to mental and emotional distress, alleging harassment for dowry and interference in her personal life.

Allegations imposed by Sudarshana

Sudarshana accused her husband Vikramaditya. In which he claimed that Vikramaditya Singh was having an affair with a woman from Chandigarh. Sudarshana further said that her husband along with his girlfriend gave her drugs. Due to which his mental balance deteriorated. After this, Vikramaditya and mother-in-law Pratibha Singh started harassing her for dowry. Demanded Rs 10 crore cash. According to Sudarshana, her father-in-law Virbhadra Singh had come to know about Vikramaditya's affair and was strictly against it. Vikramaditya was even threatened with eviction from the property.

Legal proceedings and financial dispute

Following the demise of Vikramaditya's father, Virbhadra Singh, in July 2021, Sudarshana was reportedly ousted from the marital home, leading to ongoing legal proceedings. In a significant development, a family court in Udaipur ordered Vikramaditya Singh to provide interim maintenance of Rs 4 lakh per month to Sudarshana Kumari amid the ongoing legal battle.

As the legal saga unfolds, Vikramaditya Singh's political aspirations face scrutiny amidst the backdrop of personal discord and legal entanglements.
