Setback for Pawan Singh as he trails behind in Karakat constituency

Pawan Singh who is contesting independently this time is trailing from Karakat, Bihar. Karakat is one of the Lok Sabha constituencies in Bihar. The state has 40 parliamentary seats. The Karakat seat comprises 6 Assembly segments including Nokha, Dehri, Goh, Obra, and Nabinagar. The constituency is reserved for the general category candidates. Pawan Singh from Independent is trailing with 87248 votes. Raja Ram Singh from CPI (ML)(L) is currently leading. The final Lok Sabha election result of Karakat constituency in Bihar is yet to come as we wait for more updates on the vote tally. 

BJP expelled Pawan Singh 

The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) expelled Bhojpuri singer Pawan Singh for his move to contest the Lok Sabha elections 2024 independently against the National Democratic Alliance's (NDA) official candidate in the Karakat constituency. However, the singer-turned-politician previously speculated to be seeking a ticket from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), eventually chose an independent path. 

Karakat constituency 

Karakat parliamentary constituency came into existence in 2009. This area is known for rice production. There are about 400 rice mills in this area. Before this it was known as Bikramganj Lok Sabha constituency. Apart from Piro of Bhojpur, this parliamentary seat included Karakat, Bikramganj, Nokha, Dinara and Dehri assembly constituencies of Rohtas. RLSP President Upendra Kushwaha, who was an NDA constituent in the 2014 elections, won by defeating RJD candidate and former Union Minister Kanti Singh. In 2019, JDU's Mahabali Kushwaha defeated RLSP's Upendra Kushwaha.
