As Prime Minister Narendra Modi's swearing-in ceremony approaches, the buzz around potential ministerial appointments is intensifying. Although no official list has been released yet, sources reveal that the phones of many MPs have been buzzing with calls. Notable figures from the BJP and allied parties are reportedly being contacted, signalling their inclusion in the new cabinet.

Calls Received by Key Political Figures

Among those who have received calls are BJP stalwarts Piyush Goyal, Rajnath Singh, and Nitin Gadkari. Leaders from allied parties, such as JDS’s H.D. Kumaraswamy, HAM’s Jitan Ram Manjhi, RLD’s Jayant Chaudhary, and LJP (R)’s Chirag Paswan, are also on the list. Additionally, JDU’s Ramnath Thakur and BJP’s Arjun Ram Meghwal have been contacted. From the TDP, Dr. Chandrasekhar Pemmasani and Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu have received calls, indicating their likely ministerial roles.

Meeting with Alliance Leaders

Modi is scheduled to meet with leaders of all alliance parties and potential ministers at his residence at 11:30 am. Preparations for the ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan are complete. Alongside Modi, around three dozen MPs are expected to take the oath on Sunday. The new cabinet will prominently feature members from allied parties and is anticipated to include a significant number of young ministers. This was reportedly discussed in Modi’s meeting with Amit Shah, JP Nadda, and Rajnath Singh.

Increased Representation for Bihar

Sources suggest that major ministries such as Home, Finance, Defence, and Foreign Affairs will remain with the BJP. Allies are expected to receive between five to eight cabinet minister posts. Former Chief Ministers Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Basavaraj Bommai, and Manohar Lal Khattar are also likely to join the new government. The cabinet formation is expected to reflect the results of the recent Lok Sabha elections, with increased representation for states like Bihar.
