Just days before the first phase of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024, Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Shivpal Yadav landed into controversy after his video surfaced on social media allegedly threatening the Badaun voters. The incident reportedly happened on March 15, during an addressal to voters.Brajesh Yadav, the Sahaswan SP MLA, and Shivpals son was also shown on the stage with him in the video. According to the sources, BJP spokesperson Rakesh Tripathi said that such type of threat will not be tolerated and the Election Commission should take cognizance of the incident.The voting in the Badaun Lok Sabha constituency will be held in the third phase of the parliamentary polls. Notably, the Lok Sabha polls are scheduled to take place in seven phases from April 19 and June 1. The counting of the votes will be done on June 4.Clarification from Samajwadi PartySoon after the video went viral, Brajesh Yadav clarified that it was presented with a twist. This video clip is just for 30 seconds, what was said before and after this is not shown. Meanwhile, the District Magistrate of Badaun said that they have traced the video and the clip is being probed. The information has been sought from the electoral office and required action will be taken after the probe.
