Modi 3.0 blueprint: In preparation for the anticipated third term of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, government officials are devising a comprehensive action plan. Key aspects include a proposed reduction in the number of ministries from the current 54 and a 20% increase in the number of Indian missions abroad.
Aiming for a more inclusive society, the agenda outlines plans to double the share of senior citizens with pension benefits to 50% by 2030. Furthermore, efforts are directed towards increasing female workforce participation to 50%, exceeding the global average.
A significant emphasis is placed on transitioning to electric vehicles, with targets set to raise their market share in vehicle sales from 7% to over 30%. This move aligns with broader environmental and sustainability goals.
Initiatives to alleviate the burden on the judiciary include reducing case pendency to under 1 crore by 2030 and streamlining judicial processes at all levels. The plan also seeks to address vacancies in the judiciary to enhance efficiency.
Plans entail elevating defense spending to 3% of GDP and increasing allocations for defense research and development. The agenda aims to bolster domestic production capabilities and reduce reliance on global arms imports.
The agenda highlights key economic sectors such as automobiles, textiles, pharmaceuticals, tourism, and services. Goals include increasing industrial contribution to GDP and promoting manufacturing and exports.
While these proposals are under discussion, their successful implementation will require political consensus. The expansion of ministries to accommodate various interests presents challenges to executing the envisioned reforms.
