Update: The fifth phase of the Lok Sabha elections concluded on Monday, covering 49 parliamentary constituencies across eight States and Union Territories. The voter turnout for this phase was recorded at 57.51 percent. Furthermore, polling concluded for 35 Assembly constituencies in Odisha.

Polling for the fifth phase of Lok Sabha elections has started for 49 constituencies across six states and two union territories. This round will determine the electoral fate of several prominent leaders, including former Congress president Rahul Gandhi, Union ministers Rajnath Singh and Smriti Irani and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abudullah. The voting will take place from 7 AM to 6 PM, with over 94,000 polling stations to accommodate 8.95 crore voters. This phase includes 14 seats in Uttar Pradesh, 5 in Bihar, 3 in Jharkhand, 13 in Maharashtra, 5 in Odisha, 7 in West Bengal, 1 in Jammu and Kashmir, 1 in Ladakh. Out of the 8.95 crore voters, 4.69 crore are male, 4.26 crore are female, and 5,409 are third-gender votes.

Election Commission of India (ECI) has called upon voters to vote in greater numbers as concerned about the low turnout in the previous four phases.
