Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Tripura records highest voter turnout at 53.04 percent till 1 pm, West Bengal at second place

The voting for the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections began on Friday at 7 am across 102 parliamentary constituencies spread over 21 states and Union Territories.

With a substantial increase in the voter turnout across the 21 states which are going under polls on Friday, Northeastern state Tripura have recorded highest number of vote percent. According to the data released by the Election Commission of India, Tripura has witness 53.04 percent of vote till 1 pm.

Whereas Meghalaya (48.91%) and Manipur (46.92%) are also witnessing high voter turnout percentages.
West Bengal stands at second place with 50.96% of voter turnout.

Voting percentages for the states participating in phase 1 elections are Andaman and Nicobar Islands - 35.70%, Arunachal Pradesh - 37.39%, Assam - 45.12%, Bihar - 32.41%, Chhattisgarh - 42.57%, Jammu and Kashmir - 43.11%, Maharashtra - 32.36% and Madhya Pradesh- 44.43%.

Mizoram - 39.71%, Nagaland - 43.62%, Puducherry - 44.95%, Rajasthan - 33.73%, Sikkim - 36.82%, Tamil Nadu - 39.51%, Tripura - 53.04%, Uttar Pradesh - 36.96%, Uttarakhand 37.33%.

The voting for the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections began on Friday at 7 am across 102 parliamentary constituencies spread over 21 states and Union Territories. The polling for the Lok Sabha election will be conducted in seven phases and results for the same will be announced on June 4.
