Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Phase 4 records over 62.31% voter turnout, Bengal highest at 75.91%

Voting is going on in 96 seats of 10 states in the fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections. Strict security arrangements have been made for voting in the fourth phase.

Update: In the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, the fourth phase witnessed citizens exercising their democratic right across 96 constituencies spanning 10 States and Union Territories.

The voter turnout stood at 62.31%, indicating a moderate level of engagement from the electorate.

Update: The voter turnout in ongoing phase 3 of Lok Sabha elections was recorded at 40.32%  across 96 constituencies that voted on Tuesday till 1 pm, according to the data of Election Commission of India.


Update: Jammu And Kashmir records lowest voter turnout of 14.94%, whereas West Bengal stands at 32.78% till 11 am for phase 4 of Lok Sabha Elections 2024


Update: West Bengal stands at 15.24%, whereas Jammu Kashmir recorded 5.07% of voting till 9 am for phase 4 of Lok Sabha Elections 2024.

Voting is going on in 96 seats of 10 states in the fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections. Strict security arrangements have been made for voting in the fourth phase. The enthusiasm of the voters is visible and long queues have formed at the polling centers since morning. Before voting, a mock poll was conducted at the polling centers, some videos of which have also surfaced.


1717 candidates are in fray

In this phase, the fate of 1717 candidates will be captured in EVMs. Of these, maximum 525 candidates are from Telangana. Where elections are to be held on all 17 seats. Similarly, 454 candidates are contesting on a total of 25 seats in Andhra Pradesh. There are 298 candidates in the fray on 11 seats in Maharashtra, 130 on 13 seats in Uttar Pradesh, 75 on eight seats in West Bengal and 74 candidates on eight seats in Madhya Pradesh. At the same time, 55 candidates have contested on five seats in Bihar, 45 on four seats in Jharkhand, 37 on four seats in Odisha and 24 candidates have contested on one seat in Jammu and Kashmir.

Maximum candidates are millionaire

The Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) has released a report on the affidavits of 1710 out of 1717 candidates contesting in the fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024 in 10 states. Due to lack of clarity in the affidavits of seven candidates, their details have not been included. According to this report, out of 1710 candidates, 360 (21%) candidates are tainted. Different cases are going on in these cases. At the same time, there are 476 candidates who have declared themselves millionaires. All the candidates contesting in the fourth phase have assets worth an average of Rs 11.72 crore.

PM Modi urges voters to come out and vote

The prime minister of India Narendra Modi has urged voters to come out and vote in large numbers as polling began for fourth phase of Lok Sabha election.
