Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Voting for the second phase of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 has concluded in 88 constituencies spread across 12 states and a Union Territory. The charged electioneering for this phase reached its crescendo at 5 pm on Wednesday, as key figures from the BJP-led NDA and the opposition INDIA bloc left no stone unturned to sway voters in their favor.

According to the Election Commission of India, a total of 1206 candidates from 12 states and UTs, alongside 4 contenders from the Outer Manipur Parliamentary constituency, are set to vie for seats in the phase 2 of the Lok Sabha Elections. The Election Commission disclosed that 2633 nominations were submitted for 89 parliamentary constituencies across 13 states and UTs participating in this phase.

The deadline for nomination filings was April 4. Following the scrutiny of the 2633 nominations, 1428 were deemed valid. The cutoff date for the withdrawal of candidatures across all 12 states and UTs was April 8.

The first phase of polling encompassed 102 constituencies across 21 states and union territories. Ten states and UTs were entirely covered, while the remaining 11 were partially covered. The Election Commission had announced that the voting for the 18th Lok Sabha would kick off on April 19. In line with the EC's schedule, the results of the Lok Sabha elections are slated to be unveiled on June 4.
