The counting for the 80 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh is underway and the early trends show that the INDIA bloc is leading at 41 seats where as BJP-led NDA is leading with 38 seats, according to the Election Commission website. The Azad Samaj Party (Kanshiram) was also leading by one seat.Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav were leading from Varanasi, Lucknow, Rae Bareli, and Kannauj Lok Sabha seats, respectively, among other important Uttar Pradesh seats.Senior BJP leader Maneka Gandhi, along with union ministers Smriti Irani and Anupriya Patel (Apna Dal (S)), were lagging in the Lok Sabha constituencies of Amethi, Mirzapur, and Sultanpur, respectively.It should be noted that in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the NDA won 62 of the 80 seats, while allies, Bahujan Samaj Party and Samajwadi Party won 10 and 5 seats, respectively. According to the latest numbers by the Election Commission of India, Rahul Gandhi from Rae Barelis seat is leading with 1,24,629 votes against BJPs Dinesh Pratap Singh.Meanwhile, the counting of the votes for the Lok Sabha Elections is underway and results will be out on June 4.
