Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Five sitting cabinet ministers of BJP set to lose

The contest between the BJP and INDIA alliance in the Lok Sabha polls is a reflection of a broader ideological battle. As per the trends of Tuesday, several sitting cabinets may lose this time.

As couting of votes is underway for the Lok Sabha elections 2024, leads favoured the BJP-led NDA over the Opposition alliance-INDIA. The BJP's Uttar Pradesh dominance, however, faced a tough challenge from the INDIA bloc. The contest between the BJP and INDIA alliance in the Lok Sabha polls is a reflection of a broader ideological battle. As per the trends of Tuesday, several sitting cabinets may loose this time. 

Smriti Irani 

Union minister Smriti Irani, who unseated Congress's Rahul Gandhi from his family bastian Amethi, is trailing in the massive prestige battle raging there this year. The Congress candidate, Gandhi family loyalist KL Sharma, is leading by 122854 votes. 

Arjun Munda

Union Minister and sitting MP Arjun Munda was trailing to Congress's Kalicharan Munda in Khunti Lok Sabha seat by over 125443 votes in Jharkhand. 

Kirodi Lal Meena

Ahead of the couting of votes for Lok Sabha elections on June 4, Rajasthan minister Kirodi Lal Meena on Monday said he will quit his cabinet post if the BJP loses any of the seven seats in Rajasthan. Now, it will be interesting to see if he will resign or not. 

Rajeev Chandrashekhar 

As INC's sitting MP and former Union minister Shashi Tharoor retained the Thiruvanathapuram, constituency in Kerala for a fourth consecutive term, beating BJP leader and Union minister Rajeev Chandrashekhar for over 15759 votes. 

Ajay Mishra Teni 

In a closely contested election, Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra Teni has lost his bid for a third term in the Lok Sabha from the Kheri parliamentary seat. Samajwadi Party (SP) candidate Utkarsh Verma Madhur emerged victorious, marking a significant political shift in the region. He is loosing for more than 33361 in the Kheri constituency.
