Lok Sabha Elections: Ahead of the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha Elections, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had an exclusive conversation with India Daily Live. He talked on multiple issues ranging from his custodial arrest to the election results which is set to be announced on June 4. He also hit back at the probe agency Enforcement Directorate (ED) finding nothing of substance which can link him to financial irregularities. He also attacked on the retirement age of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Supreme Court has granted him interim bail until June 1, after which he will have to return to jail on June 2. Kejriwal claims that if the India alliance government is formed, he will not have to go to jail.

In the interview, Kejriwal mentioned that he had lost 7 kilograms in one and a half months. Despite the challenges, he believes the party is doing well. He highlighted that at one point, four top AAP leaders were in jail, but the second line of leadership managed the situation effectively. He expressed confidence that the public's anger over his arrest in what he calls a false case would be reflected in their votes.

PM Modi's Retirement Rule

Addressing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's retirement rule, Kejriwal pointed out that Modi's party has stated that leaders must retire at 75. He referred to videos of BJP leaders and noted that this rule led to the removal of senior leaders like Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi. Kejriwal questioned whether PM Modi would apply this rule to himself or exempt himself from it.

In the excise policy case, Kejriwal remarked that the authorities claimed there was a Rs 1100 crore scam, yet they could not find even Rs 2 crore. He added that the Prime Minister accused him of being an experienced thief, which Kejriwal interprets as an admission that no evidence was found against him. He believes this accusation further supports his claim that he was arrested in a false case.

Surviving against the odds

Reflecting on the trials faced by his party, Kejriwal acknowledged the attempts to suppress their efforts. "These people tried to crush us," he said, alluding to the numerous challenges and accusations hurled at AAP. Yet, despite these adversities, Kejriwal remains grateful and optimistic. "If we are alive today and able to breathe, then it means that it is God's grace," he added, attributing their resilience to divine intervention and the unwavering support of the public.
