In a compelling display of determination, a disabled individual in Uttar Pradesh's Banda arrived at the Collectorate on his scooter to file nomination papers, accompanied by a lawyer and a proposer. Mohan Lal Dhuria, the candidate, expressed his strong commitment to addressing the critical issues of poverty and corruption if elected as a Member of Parliament.

The nomination process for the Banda Chitrakoot Lok Sabha seat, set for the fifth phase of voting on May 20, began on April 26 and will be concluded on May 3. This period saw numerous candidates and political parties purchasing nomination papers, with many filing their nominations.

Mohan Lal Dhuria's entry into the political arena gained attention when police personnel on duty assisted him by carrying him in their lap to file his nomination papers. Speaking about his aspirations, Mohan Lal emphasized his goal of ensuring that government facilities reach every person in need, signaling a focus on inclusive governance.

What did he say? 

"If I win the MP election, I will work tirelessly to eradicate poverty and corruption," Mohan Lal stated. "Our priority will be to provide essential services to every vulnerable individual. Ultimately, it is the people's choice to elect representatives who prioritize their welfare."

Lok Sabha Elections: Phase 3

India is currently in the midst of the Lok Sabha Elections. As per the Election Commission of India (ECI), these elections are being conducted in six phases. To date, two phases have been completed, with the third phase scheduled for May 7. During this phase, 94 constituencies across 12 States will go to the polls.

Nomination process in Phase 3

The process of filing nominations for these 94 constituencies began on April 12 and concluded on April 19 for Phase 3. On May 7, all 26 constituencies of Gujarat will vote in a single phase, along with two constituencies from Goa. Additionally, the remaining 14 constituencies from Karnataka, primarily from north Karnataka, will also cast their votes on the same day.

A notable event during this phase was the election in the Betul Constituency, Madhya Pradesh, which was moved from Phase 2 to Phase 3 due to the unfortunate demise of the BSP candidate. This constituency will also participate in the elections on May 7. The 2024 Lok Sabha Elections, which began on April 19, will continue in seven phases.
