Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) on Monday revealed that more than 25,000 prohibited items are seized at the various airports of India, every day and people will be shocked to know that Power Bank (44%) tops the list.According to BCAS, security officials often seize the prohibited items during the check-in baggage. Most of them are power banks (44%), lighter (19%), loose batteries (18%), and laptops (11%). Elaborating the growing threats to the aviation industry, as more than 4.8 lakh passenger travel every day on 3,300 flights, he added, “We cannot afford to have a single mistake, and for this reason, we have organised a week-long program to educate people as India has the worlds highest number of first-time flyers,” he said.He further added, “We are working on all fronts for the safety of passengers. Along with the safety of onboard passengers, we are equally taking care of the safety of people at the landside area of the airport.”
