Indian-origin American businessman Sanjay Mehrotra has come to India to participate in the Vibrant Gujarat Summit. Mehrotra is the CEO of American company Micron Technology, the manufacturers of computer memory and computer data storage devices, which include RAM, flash memory and USB drives.Mehrotra, who came to India to attend the summit, said that Vibrant Gujarat is a big platform to discuss important technology like semiconductor and he has never received a bigger platform than this to speak on.Mehrotras company Micron Technology is also going to make big investment in India. According to the information, the company will build a plant in Sanand, Gujarat. Earlier in June last year, when PM Modi visited America, Micron Technology had promised to invest $ 825 million in India.Micron Technology, formed in October 1978, is counted among the worlds largest tech companies. Today, the market cap of this company is 91 billion dollars (about Rs 7.5 lakh crore). Today, while Mehrotra is heading one of the largest American companies, there was a time when America had rejected his visa application thrice.Why Sanjay Mehrotra visa got rejectedMehrotra during an interview said that it was his fathers dream that he should go to America for higher studies. He said that even though we were from the middle class, his father dreamt big for him.He had stated that he had filed for an American visa after finishing his education. In India, just 11 years of high school education were needed for entrance to a college in the United States, this need is 12 years. I was therefore denied my visa for the first time.He solely studied in India after that. In his second year of college, he was accepted to California University, but he was not yet eighteen. As a result, the visa application was turned down a second time.He had mentioned that my father had advised against accepting defeat. I reapplied, but this time it was turned down as well.
