Wealth Can’t Buy Love: Law Casts Shadow Over Bezos’ Grand Marriage

Jeff Bezos, one of the world’s richest men, envisioned a wedding so grand it would be etched into history as the ‘marriage of the century’ with fiancée Lauren Sánchez. But even his staggering $178 billion fortune can’t shield him from the cold grip of the law, which has swooped in to dim the sparkle of his lavish plans, proving that when it comes to love, legal entanglements can outweigh even the deepest pockets.

Marriage of the Century: No one can do anything before the law. The latest example is the world's second richest person Jeff Bezos. Amazon owner Jeff Bezos and his partner Lauren Sanchez will get married in the summer of 2025 in Venice, Italy. It is being called the "wedding of the century". According to a Page Six report, this event was to take place on Bezos' ₹4100 crore ($500M) mega yacht "Koru", but this plan failed due to the strict rules of Venice.

What does the law of Venice say?
The Koru is one of the largest yachts in the world (415 feet long), which can accommodate only 18 VIPs, but according to the laws of Venice, such a large yacht cannot be anchored in the city's famous Grand Canal. It will have to anchor in the "Arsenal" area, which is not so beautiful. A source told the Daily Mail, "Bezos has billions of dollars, but he cannot change the rules of Venice. There is no fun in a wedding without a view of the Grand Canal."

Hotel room rent for one night is ₹26 lakh
Water taxis have been booked all over Venice to ferry guests.

Koru proposed on the yacht itself
Bezos proposed to Lauren in May 2023 on the Koru yacht itself. He made Lauren wear a pink diamond ring worth ₹20 crores ($2.5M). At present, the whole world is watching the preparations for their wedding. Local media of Venice says that Bezos' team has planned to decorate every corner of the city for the wedding. Let's see which celebs will attend the "wedding of the century"
