India’s one of the largest company, Tata consultancy Services (TCS) on Saturday has announced the end of hybrid mode. According to the sources, company has asked the employees to attend the office five days a week from October 1, 2023.

The information has come after the internal communications, saying that they have ended the ‘work from home’ culture. Currently, employees of TCS are attending the office for three days a week. It is to be noted here that TCS has been following the hybrid mode culture since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, which had given the employees a flexibility to work from home.

However, this new directive will be applicable to employees across the country.

The change is hardly shocking because TCS has long emphasised the work-from-office concept. The corporation emphasised the value of in-person engagement among employees in its FY23 annual report. The annual report highlighted the need of acculturation while noting that half of the TCS staff was employed after March 2020. This can help employees learn from one another’s behaviour and become familiar with various points of view.

Notably, TCS has become the first company to deviate from the work from home policy which has gained popularity over the time.
