Tata Technologies joins hands with BMW, will create 2,000 jobs

Tata Technologies and BMW have signed an agreement to form a joint venture (JV) to establish an automotive software and IT development hub in Pune, Bengaluru, and Chennai.

German automotive company BMW Group and Tata Technologies, a global product engineering and digital services firm have formed a joint venture to set up an automotive software and IT development hub in India.

According to the joint venture, both companies have signed an agreement to form a joint venture (JV) to establish an automotive software and IT development hub in Pune, Bengaluru, and Chennai. The major development operations will be handled from Bengaluru and Pune, whereas Chennai will focus on business IT solutions. The venture is expected to generate around 2,000 jobs locally, according to experts.

The approval of the agreement will happen after the review of the joint venture by relevant authorities. 

Commenting on the collaboration, Warren Harris, CEO and MD of Tata Technologies, said that the collaboration demonstrates the commitment to provide top-tier solutions in automotive software and digital engineering to customers across the world.

On the other hand, Christoph Grote, Senior Vice President of Software and E/E Architecture asserted that this collaboration will accelerate the progress in the field of the software-defined vehicle. He further said that working for BMW means working for the top-class processes and tools that will give Indian Software engineers a chance to shape the state-of-the-art and artificial intelligence.
