Actor Suniel Shetty is now the brand ambassador and an investor in the new venture, Waayu. Waayu is a food delivery application that seeks to give Mumbai clients access to hotels, restaurants, and food at reasonable prices and on time. The software attempts to solve issues that are chronic with current online meal delivery services, such as exorbitant commissions, unfair rankings, or negative reviews and is said to be 15 percent to 20 percent less expensive than aggregators like Swiggy or Zomato.The new app Waayu which is founded by Anirudha Kotgire and Mandar Lande of Destek HORECA, claims to help hotels and restaurants to log orders for food delivery without any commission. The app, which has the support of the Indian Hotel and Restaurant Association (AHAR), launched in Mumbai and has more than a thousand eateries on board. The monthly fee for the app is Rs 1,000, with a later increase to Rs 2,000 planned. The team also intended to connect to the government-backed Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) infrastructure and later spread the services to additional cities.According to the official statement by Kotgire, food delivery app Waayu will transform the online food delivery industry by welcoming a commission-free model. The company also said that company, right now has 16 revenue streams, but not all will kick in from the beginning. Also, the company has no per-order commission.Reportedly, Waayu does not charge any commission fee from the restaurants and hotels. According to insiders, the eateries will have a variety of delivery choices, including Grab, Dunzo, and the employment of their delivery personnel. According to the trade group, the Waayu app will also provide a SaaS platform that would let restaurants handle orders by streamlining the order workflow.
