Sensex jumps all time high, cross 80,000 in record opening

At the opening, it was 80,013.77, up 572.32 points, or 0.72 percent. Nifty began trading at 24,291.75, up 0.70 percent, or 168 points. While the Nifty Midcap opened at 56149.90, up 295.20, or 0.53 percent, Bank Nifty opened in positive territory at 52 872.30, up 704 points, or 1.35 percent.

New Delhi: On Wednesday, benchmark indices Nifty and Sensex reached new all-time highs; Sensex, led by banking and FMCG firms, crossed 80,000 for the first time.

According to the sources, at the opening, it was 80,013.77, up 572.32 points, or 0.72 percent. Nifty began trading at 24,291.75, up 0.70 percent, or 168 points. While the Nifty Midcap opened at 56149.90, up 295.20, or 0.53 percent, Bank Nifty opened in positive territory at 52 872.30, up 704 points, or 1.35 percent.

However, the sectoral indices on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), Auto, Financial Services, FMCG, Media, Pharma, PSU Bank, Private Ban, Realty, Healthcare, Consumer Durables, Oil and Gas, And Nifty Midsamall Healthcare opened in the red. Not only this, the IT stocks traded in red in the initial openings.

HDFC Bank, Britannia, HDFC Life, Tata Consumer, and Kotak Bank are among the biggest gainers on NSE, where as TCS, Sun Pharma, Ultra Cement, Tech Mahindra were among the Losers in the initial hours of the market.
