For the unversed, in India, petrol and diesel prices undergo revision every day and the rates are announced daily at 6AM.
Meanwhile, both petrol and diesel prices have stayed more or less unchanged since May 21, 2021. This was the period when the Union government had reduced the central excise duty on petrol and diesel by ₹8 per litre and ₹6 per litre respectively.
