Petrol and diesel prices remained unchanged across most Indian cities on Wednesday, according to GoodReturns data. However, minor fluctuations continue in some states.

In Delhi, petrol costs Rs 96.72 per liter while diesel is Rs 89.62. Mumbai has the highest rates at Rs 106.31 for petrol and Rs 94.27 for diesel. Prices rose slightly in Bihar, Haryana, Jharkhand, and Uttarakhand but remained steady in Uttar Pradesh. Andhra Pradesh saw a decline to Rs 111.45 per liter for petrol.

With varying local taxes, fuel prices differ across states. But major metro cities have seen no revisions by oil companies for the last few days.

Notably, the rates for each day, whether new or unchanged, are announced at 6 am. However, these vary from state to state due to criteria such as Value Added Tax (VAT), freight charges, local taxes, etc.

  • Fuel price apps: There are some fuel price apps available for smartphones that provide real-time petrol and diesel prices across India.

  • SMS: You can also send an SMS to 92249 92249 with the text "RSP <space> Dealer Code of Petrol Pump" to get the latest petrol and diesel prices for that particular location.
