Mukesh Ambani gets another threat email, this time demand is ₹400 crore

According to the source, the third email to Mukesh Ambani, which quadrupled the demand, was received by the company on Monday.

Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani has again received a threat email from an unidentified person seeking ₹400 crore, police informed on Tuesday.

According to the police officials, the billionaire’s company received the email on Monday.

It is to be noted here that this has been third threat email to Ambani in past one week.

The initial email, which sought ₹20 crore, was received from an unnamed person on Friday. The industrialist's security in-charge then submitted a complaint, which led to the registration of a FIR at the Gamdevi police station in Maharashtra. 

Another email requesting ₹200 crore was received by the company on Saturday.

According to the source, the third email, which quadrupled the demand, was received by the company on Monday.

He said that efforts are being made by the Mumbai police, their crime division, and their cyber specialists to identify the email's sender.

Last year, a man from Bihar's Darbhanga for making death threat calls to Ambani and his family members was arrested by Mumbai Police. The accused had also threatened to blow up the Sir H N Reliance Foundation Hospital in Mumbai.
