Business News. Antilia, the house of Asia and India's richest man Mukesh Ambani, has once again come into the limelight. Mukesh Ambani's Antilia is one of the most expensive houses in the world which has been built for Rs 15000 crore. But this time the discussion of the house is not about the price or Ambani but about the Waqf. Actually, it is being claimed that Mukesh Ambani's Antilia is built on Waqf land. But how much truth is there in this, let's know the whole matter.
Antilia, the home of the country's biggest industrialist i.e. Mukesh Ambani, has once again come into the limelight. This time the headlines have come because recently the Waqf Amendment Bill was introduced in the Parliament. After that, once again Antilia, which is located in the Parade Road area of Mumbai, is claimed to have been built on the land of the Waqf Board. Let us tell you that in the year 2002, Mukesh Ambani had bought a plot of four and a half lakh square feet from the Waqf Board for about 21 crores.
However, in 2005, the court was also approached regarding this. These things were said by the Maharashtra Waqf Board then. The chairman and CEO of that time were involved in the deal that was made at that time. This deal came into controversy at that time due to the Waqf Board's claim on the land. In that report presented in the Maharashtra Assembly, it was said that in the year 1986, Karim Bhai Ibrahim had given the land to the Waqf Board for religious education and to build an orphanage, which the board sold to Ambani.
According to that report presented in the Maharashtra Assembly, the property of the Waqf Board cannot be sold for private use. The matter has been pending in the court for a long time. This is not the only case of Waqf's claim on a land, but there are many such cases. You can guess from the fact that in the year 1950, the Waqf Board in India had only 52000 acres of land, which has increased to 9.4 lakh acres by 2025.
