LPG cylinder prices hike by Rs 50 for Ujjwala and Non-Ujjwala consumers: Oil Minister Hardeep Singh Puri

LPG cylinder prices increased by Rs 50 per cylinder for Ujjwala and non-Ujjwala consumers, affecting household expenses and cooking costs, effective now, with new prices effective across the country.

LPG Cylinder Price Increase: The cost of cooking gas has been increased by Rs 50 per cylinder, Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri announced on Monday. The cost of a 14.2-kg LPG cylinder will rise from Rs 803 to Rs 853 for common consumers and from Rs 503 to Rs 553 per 14.2 kg cylinder for consumers under the Ujwalla scheme.

New rates for Ujjwala and Non-Ujjwala consumers

"The Rs 50 hike per cylinder is applicable to both Ujwalla beneficiaries and non-Ujwalla beneficiaries. This will be monitored every 15 days or one month whichever is the system," Puri stated on Monday while briefing the media regarding the decision. It should be noted that the price of 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinders was unchanged from August 2024 until now.

Recent price changes and updates

On April 1, a respite for consumers in the new financial year, oil marketing companies cut the price of commercial LPG cylinders. The cost of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder was cut by Rs 41. In Delhi, the national capital, the new retail selling price now amounts to Rs 1,762 per cylinder.
