The special PMLA court in Maharashtras Mumbai has now remanded Jet Airways founder Naresh Goyal in judicial custody for 14 days after which he was shifted to Arthur Road Jail on Thursday.Jet Airways founder Naresh Goyal sent to Arthur Road Jail in MumbaiNotably, Naresh Goyal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on September 01 in connection with a case lodged against Jet Airways founder, his wife Anita Goyal and other top executives for allegedly defrauding Canara Bank worth of ₹538 crore.On Thursday morning, the founder of the grounded airline was produced for the special PMLA court after his ED custody remand ended after being extended twice. The probe agency sought his judicial custody and accordingly, the special court remanded him to judicial custody.Naresh files pleas to meet physician, family amid his health conditionsDuring his judicial custody, Jet Airways founder Naresh Goyal filed several pleas, urging the court that his family physician, regular medical consultant, and personnel specialist doctor should be allowed to conduct his medical check-ups daily.He said that on September 13, he was taken to JJ Hospital after he felt uneasiness and dizziness. After diagnosis, the doctors informed him that his heart rate was very low and given this history of heart disease and bypass surgery conducted in the past, the 74-year-old was prone to cardiac arrest.Besides, he claimed that he had an 80 per cent blockage in his left main artery and since he was also being treated for depression, he required regular medical attention.The airline founder also sought to allow him to meet his family members or call them for an hour every day because his wife was suffering from cancer.Court asks ED to submit its reply to his pleasThe court has asked the prison authorities and the ED to submit its reply to his pleas by Monday and in the meanwhile allowed him to have home-cooked food as per dietary prescription.The probe agency said that Naresh Goyal illegally diverted the loan proceeds as indicated by Ernst & Youngs Forensic Audit Reports, causing a loss of ₹538.62 crore to the bank. Further, he also acquired several properties overseas, including Dubai and the United Kingdom, using these funds, said the ED.
