The total number of Indias Jan Dhan accounts had crossed a milestone of 50 crore-mark, said the finance ministry. Interestingly, among the total count, 56 per cent of the account belongs to women.In a statement issued by the finance ministry, around 67 per cent of these accounts have been opened in rural and semi-urban areas of the country.As per the latest reports submitted by banks, the total number of Jan Dhan accounts has crossed 50 crore as on 9th August 2023.
