The global tech giant, which entered India two decades ago, is all set to launch its first two retail stores in India beginning next week. According to the announcement made by the company, it will open its first store in Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The store will open for its customers on April 18 while the store which will open in Saket, New Delhi will open its doors to customers on April 20.

According to the information, the Mumbai store will open for its customers at 11 am while the Delhi store will open its doors to customers at 10 am. Apple is leveraging India’s electronics market growth and has been heavily focusing on manufacturing its products here, in India. According to the officials they are looking for significant expansion in India after the opening of its two retail stores.

Apple BKC store

Earlier this month, Apple announced its first retail store in India which is scheduled to open at Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai at Jio World Drive, a property owned by Reliance. The design is said to be inspired by the black-yellow (kaali-peeli) taxis of Mumbai. The store also displays a bright ‘Hello Mumbai’ message for the passerby. Apple Bandra Kurla Complex will be the first official store of the company in India. The store has about 22,000 square feet and flagship architecture.

Apple has designed unique wallpapers for the iPhone, iPad, and Mac to commemorate the opening of the new Apple shop in BKC. Also, the business is pushing a unique Apple Music playlist with ‘sounds of Mumbai’. Apple has also launched the teaser for its first store in India, which is “Hello Mumbai. We are getting ready to welcome you to our first store in India. And raring to see where your creativity takes you at Apple BKC.”

Apple’s Saket retail store

Apple’s second store will open at Saket, New Delhi. There are wallpapers and a distinctive playlist to advertise the new Apple location. The store is set to open its doors on April 20 for its customers. Beginning on April 20, consumers can drop by to check out Apple’s newest product portfolio and get customised service and support from the store’s staff of Specialists, Creatives, and Geniuses, according to a statement from the company.

This morning, the barricade for Apple Saket was unveiled. It has an exclusive design that draws influence from Delhi’s several gates, each of which represents a new chapter in the city’s illustrious past. The vibrant artwork honours Apple’s second location in India, which is conveniently situated in the capital city of India.

Apple’s retail entry in India

Notably, Apple initially planned to open their first outlet in 2021 but delayed its plans due to Covid-19. Also, according to the reports, an analyst estimated that Apple would expand its manufacturing capacity in India to produce 25 percent of all iPhones by 2025.

In preparation for the store opening, the company has been actively recruiting employees in recent months. Foxconn and Wistron, which are the company’s contract manufacturing partners have increased the local assembly of mobile phones and other Apple devices in recent times.

India has the second-largest internet market in the world, but the majority of mobile phones there are under USD 250. Although India only contributes a minor amount to Apple’s overall revenue, the iPhone manufacturer remains upbeat about the country’s prospects for development. Meanwhile, Apple in a statement said their new retail locations, “mark a significant expansion in India that will offer great ways to browse, discover, and buy Apple products with exceptional service and experiences for customers.”
