Public sector Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) in the latest move have increased the prices of commercial LPG gas cylinders by ₹7 a cylinder. After the rise in the prices, the retail sales price of a 19kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi has increased from ₹1,773 to ₹1,780.
However, there is no revision in the prices of domestic LPG cylinders. Notably, the change in the prices has come after they were slashed by ₹83.5 in June.
After the price hike, the commercial LPG cylinder in Mumbai will cost from ₹1,733.50 to ₹1,740.50, in Chennai, it will increase from ₹1,945 to ₹1,952, and in Kolkata, it will increase from ₹1,895 to ₹1,902.
The two consecutive cuts have been noticed in the past two months for the commercial LPG cylinders. It is to be noticed here that oil marketing companies in May reduced the price of a commercial LPG cylinder by ₹172, and in June it was reduced by ₹83. In April too, the prices were slashed by ₹91.50.
On the other hand, the price for the commercial LPG cylinder has seen a significant jump on March 1, when the prices were increased by ₹350.50 for commercial cylinders and ₹50 per unit for the domestic cylinder.
