After Anil Ambani, his wife Tina is to be questioned by ED in fresh FEMA case

In a latest development in the foreign exchange rules violation case, Industrialist Anil Ambani’s wife Tina Ambani joined the probe conducted by Enforcement Directorate (ED) today (July 04).

Just a day after Anil Ambani was questioned by the ED, veteran actor Tina is all set to appear before the probe agency.

According to the media reports, the fresh case is linked to the investments in Anil Ambani’s companies, filed under the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA), 1999. However, the agency did not elaborate anything regarding this case yet.

Earlier, the 64-year-old industrialist was summoned by the ED in 2020 in a money laundering case against Yes Bank promoter Rana Kapoor and others.

Ambani vs Income Tax Department

Notably, in August 2022, the Income Tax Department issued a notice against Anil Ambani under the anti-black money law, alleging to evade ₹420 crore in taxes on confidential funds of over ₹814 crore held in two Swiss bank accounts.

Despite the notice, the Bombay High Court gave relief to Mr. Ambani in September, asking the Income Tax Department not to take any coercive action against the industrialist.
