Shocker! Two of a family returning from Chhath Puja shot in Bihar's Lakhisarai

A shocking incident of shooting has resulted in the deaths of two family members and injured four more in Bihar Lakshisarai on Monday. According to the sources, the family was returning from a local ghat after conducting Chhath puja when the event occurred in Punjabi Mohalla under the Kabaiya police station of Lakhisarai.

The injured people, three of whom are in serious condition were flown from Begusarai Sadar Hospital to Patna for treatment.
Pankaj Kumar, the superintendent of police in Lakshisarai, was quoted by ANI as reporting that the preliminary inquiries conducted by the local authorities indicate that a love affair may have had a role in the shooting.

SP Lakhisarai, Pankaj Kumar, while speaking to ANI stated, “Two members of a family were shot dead and four others were injured in Punjabi Mohalla under the Kabaiya police station of Lakhisarai. The incident took place when they were returning from Chhath Ghat after performing pooja. Three injured have been referred from Begusarai Sadar Hospital to Patna. The matter is related to a love affair. Police have reached the spot and an investigation is underway.”
