INDIA Bloc: Amidst the ongoing discussions within the INDIA alliance, a spotlight on the Prime Minister face has sparked a verbal duel among Bihar leaders. In the recent group meeting, JDU leaders advocated for Nitish Kumar, while Bihar Congress leaders ridiculed the demand. Addressing the matter, Prashant Kishore, the founder of Jan Suraaj, expressed his views during a press conference, dismissing the premature push for leadership.

Bihar Leaders' Role in INDIA Bloc

Prashant Kishore pointed out that Bihar leaders, including Nitish and Tejashwi, have no significant role in the INDIA bloc. He emphasised that political discussions about the Prime Ministerial position should follow the formation of an alliance, election participation, and victory.

Critique on Bihar Politics

Taking a swipe at the state's political landscape, Prashant Kishore highlighted the prevalent bias and criticised the RJD for asserting its choice for the Prime Ministerial candidate despite having zero MPs in the Lok Sabha. He asserted that only parties with winning MPs have the authority to decide on the Prime Minister.

Congress's Leadership Claim

During a press conference in Darbhanga, Prashant Kishore stressed that the Congress, being the largest party in the INDIA alliance, should naturally hold the leadership position within the group. He downplayed the leadership tussle, citing the absence of decided programs or seat adjustments in the alliance.

Common-Sense Approach

Prashant Kishore concluded that, given the current lack of clarity on election strategies and coordination, discussions about a leadership tug of war are premature. He affirmed that common sense dictates the INDIA leadership should naturally rest with the Congress, being the largest party in the alliance.
