TVS Motor Company has announced a voluntary recall of its iQube electric scooters. The recall targets units produced between July 10, 2023, and September 09, 2023, due to potential issues identified in this batch of scooters. The recall aims to ensure the safety and reliability of the iQube models.

While TVS has not disclosed the exact number of affected scooters, sales data indicates that approximately 45,000 units were sold between August and October 2023. These units are part of the recall to address any potential defects that may compromise their performance or safety.

TVS Motor will reach out to affected customers either directly or through its network of dealers. To minimize inconvenience, the company will conduct inspections and necessary repairs as quickly as possible. Appointments will be organized in phases, and TVS will work closely with customers to schedule these service visits, ensuring a swift and efficient process.

What went wrong?

The main concern appears to be a faulty component within the scooters. Most units will require only a part replacement, but TVS is prepared to replace the entire chassis if necessary. All repairs and replacements will be done at no cost to the customer, highlighting TVS's dedication to customer safety and satisfaction.

Is your scooter affected?

Owners of iQube scooters manufactured between the specified dates should contact their nearest TVS dealership to verify if their unit is included in the recall. Alternatively, they can await official communication from the company for further instructions.
