New Delhi: In November 2023, Bajaj Auto Limited achieved outstanding success in the domestic markets, witnessing a substantial surge in demand for its Pulsar and Platina ranges. The company's total sales, encompassing both domestic and export markets, soared to 3,32,223 units, marking a noteworthy increase from 2,49,731 units in November 2022. This robust performance resulted in a voluminous spike of 82,492 units, showcasing Bajaj Auto's prowess in the automotive sector.

Pulsar, Platina leading the charge

Bajaj Auto's domestic sales experienced a remarkable year-on-year growth of 76.37 percent, reaching 2,10,532 units in November 2023, up from 1,19,367 units in the corresponding period of 2022. This upswing translated into a substantial volume increase of 91,165 units. The company's diverse portfolio, including CT, Chetak, Avenger, Pulsar, and Platina, contributed significantly to this impressive growth.

Pulsar's dominance

Pulsar, a flagship brand for Bajaj, showcased exceptional performance, with sales surging by 79.29 percent to 1,30,403 units in November 2023, compared to 72,735 units in November 2022. Notably, the 125cc and 150cc models within the Pulsar range spearheaded this surge, recording sales of 77,711 units and 28,373 units, respectively. These figures represent a commendable year-on-year growth of 72.03 percent and 109.62 percent.

200cc and 250cc models shine

The Pulsar 200cc variant witnessed a substantial sales increase of 39.76 percent, reaching 18,947 units from 13,557 units in November 2022. The Pulsar 250cc model experienced a phenomenal growth of 1043 percent, with sales soaring to 5,372 units from a modest 470 units in the same period last year.

Platina's emerges as a formidable competitor

Bajaj Platina, another cornerstone of the company's portfolio, demonstrated remarkable resilience in the market. Sales escalated by 79.83 percent year-on-year, climbing from 33,702 units in November 2022 to an impressive 60,607 units in November 2023, claiming a substantial 28.79 percent share.

Pulsar, Platina registers higher growth 

While Pulsar and Platina stole the spotlight, other models in Bajaj Auto's lineup contributed significantly to the overall success. The CT series, for instance, registered a growth of 15.69 percent, with sales reaching 8,643 units in November 2023, compared to 7,471 units in the same period the previous year.

Chetak, Avenger register substantial growth

Bajaj Chetak, currently the third best-selling electric scooter in the country, recorded a substantial growth of 153.20 percent, with sales totaling 8,472 units in November 2023, up from 1,300 units in November 2022. Avenger, known for its stylish cruising experience, witnessed a 24 percent sales increase, reaching 1,612 units.

Strategic Plans for future growth

Bajaj Auto is strategically positioning itself for sustained growth. The company plans to expand its high-in-demand 125cc Pulsar range, with the new P125 already spotted during testing. Additionally, upgrades to six Pulsar models in the 125-200cc range are anticipated by March 2024. This forward-looking approach underscores Bajaj Auto's commitment to innovation and meeting evolving market demands.
