Suzuki Motor Corp. has initiated a bold venture in India with the launch of a $40 million fund named Next Bharat Venture. This initiative seeks to bolster Suzuki’s footprint in one of the world’s fastest-growing markets by investing in small rural businesses, particularly in sectors like agriculture and microfinance. Naomi Ishii, Executive Vice President at Suzuki, emphasized the fund’s strategic role in expanding Suzuki’s reach beyond its current customer base of 400 million people in India.

Ishii articulated Suzuki’s vision to tap into the untapped potential of India’s rural economy, aiming to create sustainable business opportunities and foster entrepreneurship in underserved areas. The fund will operate from three key locations—Gujarat, Bangalore, and Hyderabad—under the leadership of Vipul Nath Jindal, leveraging local expertise and infrastructure to drive meaningful impact.
