As anticipation mounts for the arrival of the new generation Maruti Suzuki Swift in May 2024, recent crash tests in Japan have shed light on the vehicle's safety. It secured a commendable 4-star safety rating. The results, unveiled by Japanese safety authorities, underscore the vehicle's robust safety features and advanced technology designed to enhance occupant protection and mitigate collision risks

Impressive preventive safety measures

Scoring an impressive 99% in preventive safety measures, the 2024 Suzuki Swift shines in its autonomous emergency braking system, showcasing exceptional efficacy in various scenarios. From car-to-car interactions to pedestrian encounters, day or night, and interactions with bicyclists, the Swift's safety features proved proactive and reliable.

Moreover, its lane departure prevention system and high-performance headlights received top ratings, further solidifying the vehicle's safety capabilities.

Resilient collision safety performance

In collision safety performance, the Suzuki Swift demonstrated remarkable resilience, scoring 81% in simulated crash scenarios. The vehicle exhibited robust protection for occupants in both frontal and side collisions, with a focus on mitigating neck injuries in rear-end collisions. Notably, the Swift excelled in full-wrap frontal collision tests, earning high ratings for both driver and passenger seats.

Automatic accident emergency call system

Equipped with an automatic accident emergency call system, the Suzuki Swift achieved a perfect score of 100%, ensuring swift response and assistance in case of an accident. This feature enhances overall emergency readiness and post-collision support for occupants, contributing to a safer driving experience.

Prioritizing safety without compromise

The exceptional performance of the 2024 Suzuki Swift in crash tests underscores the automaker's unwavering commitment to safety. With advanced safety technologies becoming increasingly vital, the Swift emerges as a compelling choice for safety-conscious consumers, both in Japan and beyond.

Safety prospects for India

While the international spec variant has reassured accolades, the safety rating for the India-spec Maruti Swift remains to be seen. It's uncertain if all features offered in the international variant will be available in the Indian version. Indian car safety crash tests will be conducted by Bharat NCAP, shedding light on Swift's safety performance in the Indian context.
