On April 10, MG Motor India will introduce the MG Hector Blackstorm edition to India. The Blackstorm variant is already available for other SUVs from the carmaker, such as the MG Astor and MG Gloster.

Blackstorm's features

Red accents will be seen all around the MG Hector Blackstorm, even within the cabin. LED headlights and taillights, a blacked-out grille and alloy wheels, an all-black interior with black leather and red accents, a touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument panel, and a panoramic sunroof are among the features it will have.

Hector's cost competition

The cost of MG's volume driver, Hector, ranges from Rs 13.99 lakh to Rs 21.90 lakh (ex-showroom). The MG Hector competes with other vehicles in its price range, such as the Hyundai Creta and the Kia Seltos, despite having larger dimensions. It challenges the Tata Harrier as well.

Power unleashed

In terms of powertrains, the MG Hector comes with two engines and an equal number of transmission options. Either the 2.0-liter diesel engine (170 PS of maximum power and 350 Nm of peak torque) or the 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine (143 PS of maximum power and 250 Nm of peak torque) are available. The diesel unit is coupled to a 6-speed MT with no option for an automatic transmission, while the petrol unit can be paired with either a CVT automatic or a 6-speed MT.

MG offers the Comet EV and the ZS EV in addition to the SUVs Astor, Hector, and Gloster. The Hector, which is also the first vehicle the company has released in India, has the highest sales among all these models.
