New Delhi: Skoda India ups the safety game for its popular SUVs, the Slavia and Kushaq, with the introduction of their 2024 models. These updated versions prioritize passenger safety by offering six airbags as standard across all variants. This significant improvement comes at a slightly increased price point, ranging from ₹10,000 to ₹35,000 across the lineup.

Previously, only the top-spec variants of the Slavia and Kushaq boasted six airbags, leaving the lower trims with just two. This update aligns Skoda with competitors like Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos, which already offer standard six airbags.

Enhanced safety for all passengers

Both the 2024 Slavia and Kushaq retain their impressive 5-star safety rating awarded by Global NCAP. This rating reflects the cars' robust build quality and a suite of safety features including:

  • Electronic Stability Control (ESC)
  • Multi-Collision Braking System (MCB)
  • Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
  • Brake Assist
  • Traction Control

Price and engine options

The price hike due to the inclusion of standard six airbags sees the updated Skoda Kushaq starting at ₹11.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base variant and reaching ₹19.79 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top model. The Slavia follows a similar pricing structure, with its ex-showroom range starting at ₹11.63 lakh and extending to ₹18.83 lakh for the top trim.

Engine options remain unchanged for both SUVs. The Slavia offers a 1.0-liter TSI unit generating 115 bhp and 178 Nm, alongside a more powerful 1.5-liter TSI engine producing 150 bhp and 250 Nm. Both engines come with transmission choices of a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DSG gearbox. The Kushaq features the same 1.0-liter TSI engine and a 1.5-liter TSI option, albeit with slightly different power figures.

Skoda's commitment to safety with the 2024 Slavia and Kushaq makes them even more compelling choices for Indian car buyers seeking a feature-rich and secure driving experience.
