Nissan X-Trail: As the formidable Fortuner continues to dominate the SUV market, Nissan aims to disrupt the scene with the launch of its Nissan X-Trail. Boasting cutting-edge features at a competitive price, the upcoming X-Trail promises a level of sophistication that outshines its rivals, including the Fortuner.

While a sneak peek of this SUV was spotted in India last year, Nissan has now officially unveiled the X-Trail facelift, i.e. Nissan Rogue, in the USA.

Revolutionary Power under the Hood

The upcoming X-Trail introduces a formidable engine, marking Nissan's foray into the e-power hybrid technology segment in India. Built on the CMF-C platform, this SUV arrives as a fully assembled CBU unit.

Globally, the X-Trail offers a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine, delivering 163 HP of power and 300 Nm of torque. Accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 9.6 seconds and reaching a top speed of 200 km/h, it's a powerhouse that commands attention.

Luxurious Design and Features

The X-Trail showcases a bold design, featuring a prominent V-motion front grille and bumper-mounted LED headlamps. LED DRLs with a wraparound design sit above the headlamps, while muscular wheel arches complement the large wheels on the sides. The rear is adorned with a substantial bumper, LED tail lamps, wipers, and a high-mounted stop lamp.

The front grille, adopting the V-motion style, receives an extra touch of chrome, adding a touch of sophistication to the X-Trail. Nissan has also refined the front bumper, giving it a rounded-out appearance.

The side profile remains consistent, with a refreshed alloy wheel design. Inside, the X-Trail boasts a 12.3-inch infotainment system, chestnut brown interiors, ventilated seats, and ADAS.

Notably, the inclusion of inbuilt Google with a 5-year subscription plan elevates connectivity, offering services like Google Maps, Google Assistant, and Google Play Services.

X-Trail vs. Fortuner: Clash of Titans

In the battle against Toyota's Fortuner, the X-Trail holds its ground with a robust contender. Fortuner presents two engine options, including a 2.7-litre petrol engine with 166 PS/245 Nm output and a 2.8-litre turbo-diesel engine with 204PS/500Nm output. Offering 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, and 6-speed automatic gearbox options, Fortuner provides 2WD and 4WD choices.

Earlier this year, Nissan disclosed plans to introduce six new cars in India, with the X-Trail anticipated to be among them. While the pricing details remain unconfirmed, expectations suggest the X-Trail could start from Rs 45 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). Stay tuned for Nissan's bold entry into the competitive SUV arena!
