New Delhi: Kia Motors has officially launched the facelifted version of its popular Sonet SUV in India, bringing a host of segment-first features to redefine the driving experience. The Sonet facelift, making its global debut from India for the third time, stands out in the competitive SUV segment, promising an array of enhancements across its Tech Line, GT Line, and X-Line variants. Kia's commitment to innovation is evident in the incorporation of the Level-1 Advanced Driving Assistance System (ADAS).

While the pricing details are yet to be disclosed, the booking window for the Sonet facelift opens on December 20, with the official price announcement scheduled for January 2024. Enthusiastic customers eager to secure this cutting-edge SUV can place their bookings through the company's official website or authorised dealerships, with availability also under the K-Code program.

Kia Sonet Facelift: Design, exterior

The Sonet facelift maintains its contemporary aesthetic, with notable updates in its large LED headlamps, daytime running lights (DRLs), and redesigned front bumper with horizontal LED fog lights. The SUV boasts newly designed 16-inch alloy wheels and an impressive LED rear lightbar connecting the C-shaped taillights. The rear bumper and roof-mounted spoiler showcase a refreshed design. Buyers can choose from 8 monotone, 2 dual-tone, and one matte finish paint shade.

Kia Sonet Facelift: Interior enhancements

Inside the Sonet facelift, a pivotal upgrade is the 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, akin to the larger Seltos model. The infotainment system is also upgraded to a 10.25-inch touchscreen, accompanied by a smaller screen offering climate control details. Additional features include cooled front seats, leather upholstery, BOSE audio system, sunroof, and LED ambient lighting, providing a comprehensive and luxurious driving experience.

Kia Sonet Facelift: Safety features

The Sonet facelift prioritises safety with the inclusion of the Level-1 Advanced Driving Assistance System (ADAS). This system, also featured in the Hyundai Venue, offers Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Collision Avoidance Assistance, High-beam Assist, and Lane Keep Assist. The SUV comes equipped with standard safety features, including 6 airbags, hill-start assist, tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and electronic stability control (ESC). Higher variants offer advanced features such as cornering lamp, four-way powered driver seat, 360-degree camera, and blind-view mirror.

Kia Sonet Facelift: Engine options

The Sonet facelift retains its powerful engine options, providing versatility for different driving preferences. The 1.2-liter, 4-cylinder petrol engine delivers 83hp and is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The 1.0-liter, 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine generates 120hp, while the 1.5-liter four-cylinder diesel engine produces 116hp. Both the turbo-petrol and diesel engines are available with 6-speed manual and iMT gearboxes, along with 7-speed dual-clutch and 6-speed torque converter automatic options.
