New Delhi: Honda has recently made headlines in the automotive industry by announcing the introduction of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) variants for its popular models – the Honda Amaze, Honda City (excluding the City Hybrid), and the Honda Elevate. This move is seen as a significant departure from Honda's traditional offerings and aims to cater to eco-conscious consumers seeking cost-effective driving solutions.

According to a report by HT Auto, Honda's decision to offer CNG variants is groundbreaking because it marks the first time the automaker is integrating CNG options into its lineup. Unlike competitors who incorporate CNG systems during manufacturing, Honda plans to provide these kits through its dealerships as aftermarket add-ons. This approach allows customers to retrofit CNG capabilities onto both manual and CVT transmission versions of the Amaze, City, and Elevate models.

What is expected price range?

The CNG conversion kits are expected to be priced between ₹75,000 to ₹85,000, inclusive of installation. Honda dealerships will offer a one-year warranty on these kits, ensuring reliability and peace of mind for buyers. This initiative is poised to attract a broader customer base interested in environmentally friendly and economical driving alternatives.

Expanding vehicle portfolio

In addition to enhancing its fuel options, Honda Cars India is focused on expanding its vehicle portfolio. Committed to introducing at least one new model annually, Honda has recently refreshed the Honda City and launched the highly anticipated Honda Elevate. Looking forward, the company is gearing up for the festive season debut of the all-new third-generation Honda Amaze.

Features of New Honda Amaze

Built on a platform shared with the City and Elevate models, the new Honda Amaze promises compact dimensions under four meters. It is anticipated to feature sleek design cues inspired by Honda's global sedan lineup and a revamped interior layout. The interior may include a larger touchscreen interface, similar to the technology found in the Elevate model. This redesign is expected to optimize production costs and maintain competitive pricing.
