Classic legends teases BSA Gold Star 650 launch in India: Check design, specifications

Classic Legends, the renowned manufacturer behind iconic Indian motorcycle brands Jawa and Yezdi, has unveiled a teaser for its upcoming motorcycle, slated to debut on August 15th this year. The eagerly awaited BSA Gold Star 650 will be introduced in India under the umbrella of the Mahindra Group subsidiary. Following its global premiere in 2021, the BSA Gold Star, a 650cc single-cylinder modern classic bike, is now set for its much-anticipated launch in the Indian market, marking the brand's maiden entry into the country.

BSA Gold Star Specifications

Drawing inspiration from the legendary BSA Gold Star models of the 1950s and 1960s, the new Gold Star blends classic aesthetics with contemporary design elements. Notable features include chrome accents, a circular headlamp, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, a flat saddle, and wire-spoked wheels.

Incorporating modern engineering, the motorcycle boasts a tubular steel dual cradle frame, 41 mm telescopic front forks, and twin rear shocks with 5-step preload adjustment. Braking performance is enhanced with a 320mm front disc and a 255mm rear disc, complemented by Brembo two-piston and single-piston floating callipers. The bike is equipped with dual-channel ABS as standard and holds a fuel capacity of 12 liters, weighing in at 213 kg.

Powering the BSA Gold Star is a robust 652cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled DOHC engine. Delivering 45 bhp at 6500 rpm and a peak torque of 55 Nm at 4000 rpm, the engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox featuring a slip and assist clutch mechanism.
