Auto News: Millions of people traveling on the National Highway and Expressway in the country pay toll tax every day. Repeated toll taxes become a big problem for passengers. The solution to this problem has been discovered by the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. The Ministry has planned to implement a new toll policy, which can provide relief from the hassle of repayment of toll tax to passengers repeatedly.

A big relief in new toll policy

According to the Union Ministry, a new toll policy may soon be implemented, which will cause relief for people traveling on National Highways and Expressway across the country. Under this new policy, on recharging Fastag will not have to pay any fee at any toll plaza for the next one year. According to reports, the price limit of this recharge will be ₹ 3000.

That is, if a person recharges ₹ 3000, then he will get the right to pass through unlimited number of toll plazas throughout the year, and there will be no need to give toll every time. This will not only save the time of the passengers, but they will also get rid of the worry of minimum balance every time.

Who will benefit the most?

  • The most benefit of this new policy will be to those who often travel on highways and expressways. This includes:
  • People going to office who travel from one city to another daily.
  • Traders and long distance trucks that transport goods across the country.
  • Tourists who travel long distances.
  • This facility can prove to be very beneficial for all these, because they will not have to face the problem of paying toll every time.

Another option was first considered

According to reports, before implementing this new policy, the central government had considered another option, which plans to provide toll tax free travel for the next 15 years on depositing an amount of ₹ 30,000 on purchasing a new car. This would have a facility like lifetime pass, which would give the car owner an opportunity to travel for a long period without any toll tax.

However, all the parties could not agree on this option, and the scheme was postponed due to several disputes. After this, the Ministry has theoretically accepted the option with ₹ 3000 recharge, which may be implemented soon.

Toll operators will suffer loss due to government scheme

While implementing the new policy, passengers will get the facility, while toll operators and consensors may face reduction in revenue. The reason for this is that after the government implemented this scheme, passengers will not need to repay toll tax repeatedly.

However, the Ministry has prepared a special formula to make up for this loss. Under this formula, a digital record of vehicles passing through toll plazas will be kept. Seeing this record, the government will compensate for the difference between the claims and actual recovery of the consensors and contractors. This will ensure that toll operators do not get damaged and they can get proper compensation.

Significant relief for the passengers

If the new toll policy is applicable, it can prove to be a significant relief for the passenger community. A recharge will save both the time and money of the passengers due to free travel for the whole year. Also, this policy to digital payment system
