Wheelchair-friendly car: Anand Mahindra, the Chairman of Mahindra Group, has expressed keen interest in investing in a groundbreaking car designed for individuals with mobility challenges.

The innovative vehicle, equipped with a special rooftop compartment, presents a practical solution for wheelchair-bound individuals.

Acknowledging Innovation in Mobility Solutions

Mahindra recently shared a video on social media showcasing the unique design of a car tailored to the needs of wheelchair users.

He applauded the ingenuity behind the weatherproof rooftop box, a key feature of the vehicle, designed to securely store a wheelchair during travel.

The technology embedded in the car ensures that the wheelchair is readily accessible to the user upon reaching their destination.

Overcoming Mass Production Challenges

In his social media post, Mahindra acknowledged the challenges faced by traditional auto Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) in incorporating such bespoke features into mass-produced vehicles.

Despite the challenges, he expressed his eagerness to invest in a startup dedicated to developing customised solutions for vehicles.

"Super smart & super useful design. Would fill me with pride if our vehicles could offer these fitments. But it's hard for an auto OEM engaged in mass production to do. Need a startup engaged in customisation. I would willingly invest in such a startup," Mahindra stated in the caption of the video.

Empowering Independence and Inclusivity

The featured car's innovative design not only ensures the safe storage of a wheelchair during travel but also incorporates a tech-driven solution to bring the wheelchair to the user when needed.

This breakthrough feature aims to enhance the independence of drivers with mobility challenges and create a more inclusive and accessible driving experience.
