Change in India’s EV policy

Policies regarding electric vehicles can change frequently based on various factors such as technological advancements, economic considerations, and environmental goals and this move has come after India has been actively working to promote electric vehicles (EVs) as part of its efforts to reduce pollution and dependence on fossil fuels. This includes initiatives such as subsidies for EV buyers, tax incentives, and infrastructure development for EV charging stations.

Recently, the government announced a new electric vehicle policy according to which import duty concessions will be given to companies setting up manufacturing units in the country with a minimum investment of USD 500 million.
