Vat Savitri Vrat: Women observe Vat Savitri Vrat in the hope of perpetual good fortune. This year, Vat Savitri Vrat falls on Thursday, June 6. Women fast, worship Vat Vriksha, recall Devi Savitri's fidelity to her husband, and make wishes for continuous good fortune on this day. It is said that Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu, and Lord Mahesh reside in Vat Vriksha.

Date of Vat Savitri Vrat

According to the Vedic Panchang, Jyeshtha Amavasya Tithi will start at 7:54 pm on June 5 and will last till 6:07 pm on June 6. According to the Udaya Tithi, Vat Savitri Vrat will be observed on June 6.

According to mythological legends, Savitri tricked Lord Yama, the lord of death, and compelled him to make her husband Satyawan alive. Hence married women observe Vat Savitri Vrat for the well-being and long life of their husband.

Guli Kaal: 8.24 am to 10.06 am
Abhijeet Muhurat: 11.21 am to 12.16 pm
Char Labh Amrit Muhurat: 10.06 am to 3.13 pm

Significance of Vat Vriksha Puja

According to mythology, Goddess Savitri performed severe penance to save her husband from trouble, due to which Yamraj, pleased with her, returned the life of her husband Satyawan under the Vat tree and also gave a boon that the married women who worship the Vat tree will be blessed to remain a forever fortunate woman.
