Ekadashi Tithi is considered one of the important days in Hindu religion. Ekadashi Tithi in Shukla Paksha of Margashirsha month will be observed on December 22, 2023.

This Ekadashi is known as Mokshada Ekadashi. Worshiping Lord Vishnu on the day of Mokshada Ekadashi destroys attachment and the person attains salvation after death.

Lord Vishnu is worshiped on the day of Mokshada Ekadashi and it is said that by fasting on Mokshada Ekadashi, man gets freedom from the bondage of birth and death or we can say moksha.

According to Acharya Dr Vikramaditya, it is believed that if you want to attain salvation after death, then you must observe the fast of Mokshada Ekadashi. Lord Vishnu is worshiped on this day and along with this, if you adopt some special measures on the day of Mokshada Ekadashi, you will get relief from many problems and can overcome poverty or financial issues.

Importance of Mokshada Ekadashi

According to the scriptures, the ancestors are pleased by fasting and worshiping on Mokshada Ekadashi. It is believed that by observing fast on Ekadashi, the ancestors are freed from the lower world and go to Vaikuntha Dham. In such a situation, the ancestors bless their family for food grains and children. At the same time, by fasting on Mokshada Ekadashi, fame also increases and life becomes filled with happiness.

Chanting the mantras of Lord Vishnu

If you chant mantras while worshiping Lord Vishnu on this day, then many problems coming in your life will be reduced. One should chant the mantra ‘Om Namo Bhagwate Vasudevay’ while praying Tulsi on Mokshada Ekadashi.

Feed the Cow

Feeding green fodder to a cow on the day of Mokshada Ekadashi is considered beneficial. If this is not possible then donate money for cow fodder in the cow shed.

Worshipping Banana tree

Lord Vishnu is worshiped on the day of Ekadashi. Along with this, worshipping banana tree is also considered auspicious. Especially a person whose Jupiter is weak in his horoscope must worship a banana tree on the day of Ekadashi. This strengthens the position of Jupiter and also removes obstacles in marriage or married life.

For fulfillment of special wishes (Donate of yellow things)

If you want to please Lord Vishnu on the day of Mokshada Ekadashi, then donate yellow items on this day. Apart from this, if you donate yellow-coloured clothes to a Brahmin, it will prove beneficial. 

For debt relief

Offer water to the Peepal tree on Mokshada Ekadashi. Lord Vishnu seems to reside in Peepal. This gives relief from debt. Also, the economic situation improves.

For a happy life

Offer kheer to Lord Vishnu. Add basil leaves to kheer and offer it. This practice helps in maintaining peace in the house with the blessings of God.

To overcome sudden crisis

On the evening of Mokshada Ekadashi, light a lamp of cow ghee in front of Tulsi and do 11 rounds of Tulsi while chanting the mantra Om Vasudevaya Namah. With this, happiness and peace are maintained in the house and a person also get rid of all kind of crisis.

To eliminate poverty

If you feel that all the money that you earn gets spent as soon as it comes to your house, then you should offer betel leaf to Lord Krishna on the day of Mokshada Ekadashi. First write Shri with Roli on this betel leaf and then offer it to God. After the puja, bring these leaves and keep them in your safe or cupboard.
