According to Acharya Dr Vikramaditya, it is believed that bathing in Ganga on the full moon day is said to have special significance. Doing this, brings happiness and prosperity in a person's life as well as cures all his diseases. Apart from this, Goddess Lakshmi remains kind to the seeker by practicing remedies and some special things at home, on the day of Margashirsha Purnima.

By observing a fast on the full moon, a person attains happiness and good fortune. According to religious belief, on the day of Margashirsha Purnima, Goddess Annapurna, the form of Goddess Parvati, appeared on earth. Therefore, Annapurna Jayanti is also celebrated every year on the full moon day of Margashirsha month.

It is believed that by doing worshipping Goddess Annapurna on this day, the seeker gets relief from problems in life and the food stores always remain full. Apart from this, auspicious results are obtained. It is also believed that the person does not faces shortage of food.

Here are some remedies for fulfillment of desires:

Make nine sand lumps on the river bank, apply roli or vermilion tilak on all the lumps and remember your wishes while lighting a ghee lamp in front of them.

Importance of Margashirsha Purnima.

Purnima Tithi holds a special place in Hindu religion. On the day of full moon, the moon appears in its full form and brightness. Margashirsha Purnima is also known as Mokshadayini Purnima. For this reason, by taking a bath on the day of Margashirsha Purnima, a person attains salvation after death.

By doing some special measures on the day of full moon, one gets special blessings of Goddess Lakshmi in life.

If bread or food is fed to a cow on the day of Margashirsha Purnima, then the person attains virtue. Moreover, this one virtuous deed gives him 100 times more reward.

Worshipping Lord Krishna on the day of Margashirsha Purnima also has utmost importance. It is believed that by worshiping Lord Krishna on this day, all the sins of a person are destroyed and all the troubles of his life go away.

Lord Dattatreya's birth anniversary is also celebrated on Margashirsha Purnima.

An auspicious combination of Shukla Paksha and Brahma Yoga will be formed on this.

Importance of bathing in holy river

On the day of Margashirsha Purnima, take bath in a holy river in the morning during Brahma Muhurta. If you fail to take bath in the river, then take bath at home by mixing Ganga water.

Also worship Lord Lakshmi Narayan on this day. Offer yellow flowers, clothes, yellow sweets etc. to Lord Vishnu.
People who will observe fast on day should recite the story of Lord Satyanarayan. By worshiping Lakshmi Narayan properly on this day, happiness and wealth remains in the house.

Apart from this, taking bath in the holy river with the soil of Tulsi root on the day of Margashirsha Purnima brings blessings of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Vishnu. It is believed that donations made on this day are 32 times more fruitful than other full moon days.

Common practices that you can follow on Margashirsha Purnima

Chant this mantra

To get rid of financial problems, at the time of moonrise on the full moon day, one should mix sugar and rice in raw milk and offer Arghya to the moon while chanting the mantra ॐ श्रां श्रीं श्रौं स चन्द्रमसे नमः या ॐ ऐं क्लीं सोमाय नमः। By doing this, financial problems gradually go away.

Worship Peepal tree

According to scriptures, it is believed that Goddess Lakshmi arrives on the Peepal tree on the full moon day. On this day, after taking bath in the morning, something sweet should be offered to the Peepal tree and water should be offered.

Offer water to Moon

For sweetness in married life, either husband or wife, any one from the couple, must offer Arghya to the moon on the full moon day. They can also do this together.
