Durgashtami of Margashirsha month and the last Ashtami of Shukla Paksha of this year will be observed on December 20. Ashtami Tithi holds a special significance in the Hindu religion.

Durga Ashtami fast is observed every month on the Ashtami Tithi of Shukla Paksha. On this day, devotees of Goddess Durga worship her and keep fast for the whole day.

Remedies for the fulfillment of desires

Today, keep five handfuls of rice, one coin, and 11 Hibiscus flowers in a small earthen vessel and offer it along with the vessel to Goddess Durga in a temple before evening.

Every festival has special significance in Sanatan Dharma. Similarly, the Masik Durgashtami of Margashirsha month has special significance. Masik Durgashtami is celebrated on the Ashtami Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Margashirsha month. On this occasion, Maa Durga is worshiped ritually.

Necessary puja materials for worshiping Maa Durga

Roli or kumkum, lamp, cotton (for the wick), ghee, cloves, camphor, cardamom, dry incense, Mauli (kalawa), coconut, akshat, betel leaves, betel nut for puja, flowers, fruits, sweets, red chunari, makeup items. Goods etc.

Method of worshipping on Durgashtami

Though each devotee follows his/her ritual to appease Goddess Durga. But here are some common practices that one can follow:

  • Wake up early in the morning and clean the house and the place of worship and also take a bath and wear clean clothes.
  • Now if you want to worship at the place of worship, then sprinkle Ganga water there, or spread a red seat on a clean wooden platform and install a picture or statue of Maa Durga on it.
  • After this, offer red chunari and makeup items to Goddess.
  • Now light the incense lamp in front of Mother Durga.
  • Apply Tilak with Kumkum, Akshat and worship with Mauli, red flower, clove, camphor etc.
  • Place betel nut and cardamom on the betel leaf and place it in front of Maa Durga on the platform.
  • Now offer fruits and sweets to Maa Durga.
  • During the worship, keep remembering Mother Durga and recite Durga Chalisa.
  • After completion of the puja, perform Aarti of Maa Durga and ask for forgiveness for the mistake made in the puja.

Here are some practices that can be followed on Margashirsha Durgashtami to get abundance in life:

To fulfill a secret wish

If you have any secret wish in your mind, then on the day of Ashtami, burn camphor, clove, put black pepper in the burning incense and rotate it throughout the house and remember your secret wishes.

For financial gains

If you have given a loan to someone or your money has been withheld by someone else or you are unable to repay it, then mix camphor in rose water and offer it to the Mother Goddess on the day of Ashtami. This will solve your money-related problems. You can improve financially.

To ward off the evil eye

If your child has been affected by someone's evil eye, then on the day of Durgashtami, take 2-3 dry red chillies and rotate them on his head 7 times. After this burn it. It is believed that by doing this the evil eye goes away.

Sorrows will go away

If you are facing sorrows in your life, then on Durgashtami, you should light 9 lamps near Tulsi. There is a religious belief that by doing this remedy one gets relief from all the sorrows prevalent in life.

Your wish will be fulfilled

If you want to fulfill your wish, then offer a garland of cloves and flowers to Maa Durga on the day of the monthly Durgashtami. It is believed that by doing this every wish of the person is fulfilled.
